1switch secondlife client
What?
A modified client for Secondlife which can be controlled using only one button.
Why?
Severely physically disabled players, such as quadriplegics or players missing limbs, have a hard time interacting with Secondlife as it requires them to be able to use a mouse so they can click on objects or other avatars to interact with them.
How?
We modified the interaction so it becomes scan accessible. We offer two different modes:
- Navigation mode: An arrow is displayed in front of the user which rotates from left to right. When you press a key your character will rotate in the direction the arrow is pointing. The arrow will then expand indicating the distance you want to go. Pressing the switch again will make your avatar walk toward the place indicated by the top of the arrow. Upon arriving you will automatically go into
- Interaction mode: you can exit from this mode by pressing the switch twice to go back in navigation mode. Upon arriving to a new location you will automatically be able to interact with the objects and avatars around you. We find all avatars and objects of interest and then iterate over each object. Pressing the switch will allow you to interact with that particular object or avatar.
